BANDIT'S BRIDE
This set represented a couple
of firsts for me. It was the first time that I used a pair of dolls
for a theme, and it was the first time that I customized a male doll. Based
on a popular Chinese myth that later became a blockbuster movie, Bandit's
Bride represents the love between a rich man's daughter and a desert bandit.
I found this WONDERFUL brocade fabric that I thought to be perfect
for the couple! I had to restyle "Bandit's" hair and I created a top
knot for him using several black elastics and LOTS of hairspray. Her
hair was permed in soft waved using the boil perm method with pipe cleaners.
His black pants were made of the same black polyester fabric as her
sash. She was given a new lip color and subtled brown eye shading.
The couple was sold on Ebay and now belong in a private collection.
