Devi was inspired by an episode of my fav show, "Xena, Warrior Princess".  The Devi on the show was a gentle healer, and, of course, I thought, "hey!  I'll make a Barbie Doll Devi".  She wears a green bustier beaded with gold and adorned with a golden flower.  The matching full length skirt has a golden beaded waistline.  Over this she wears a beaded wrap of ethnic print which matches her headpiece.  Her earrings are gold and green drops, which match her gold and green beaded necklace.  Her shoes are green with a yellow and red contrast at the toe.  Although she started out as a standard bent-arm Barbie, I changed the shape of the left arm so she can better reach her minions.  Her eyes were originally pale blue, and (in my opinion) just a little spooky.  I painted her eyes green to match her outfit and gave them a little extra sparkle.  I added red lipstick ( I love red lipstick!) to complete the look.  Her hair is styled in a long ponytail with a sequined, beaded adornment.  Private Collection
